Yuanda Australia’s expertise will be on display at Brisbane’s newest landmark
Yuanda Australia has been entrusted to design, build and install the facade on the first tower of the Queen’s Wharf development, a landmark building that will define Brisbane to the world.
Part of an integrative resort and lifestyle development that will transform Brisbane city and its riverside, Queen’s Wharf will house 667 apartments, four hotels, 50 restaurants, cafes and bars, an extensive retail precinct, refurbished heritage buildings and a publicly accessible Sky Deck offering stunning CBD and river views.
The completed project will provide unprecedented public access to the Brisbane River on its north bank, creating a connection between the city and the river which for decades has been interrupted by the Riverside Express freeway.
Located at 8 Margaret Street, the development will rise 64 storeys above Brisbane’s streets.
Yuanda’s work on the project will include an all-unitised curtain wall with an aluminium horizontal and vertical feature, FC soffit to balcony, and a GRC planter box.
Yuanda Director ZhiJun Liu said the installation of the crown curtain wall will be a challenge.
“The crown curtain wall on this project has steel structures which means we will be required to use a tower crane to install the wall,” Mr Liu said.
“This does create some difficulties but Yuanda Australia has the expertise and ability to tackle these types of challenges.”
Installation is set to begin in January 2021, with an expected completion date of March 2022.
