Yuanda Australia successfully completes PMU testing on West Side Place 2
Yuanda Australia has successfully completed the Performance Mock-up (PMU) test in China for the West Side Place 2 podium.
Five façade types were tested in accordance with AS/NZS 4284:2008, and all tests passed without any incidents.
The specimens tested were representative of the size and shape of the façade on the podium.
Due to the projects extreme complex and non-standard nature, multiple façade types needed to be tested to determine if the interface detailing could perform adequately.
A cyclic pressure was used to simulate the non-uniform nature of wind to test the specimens against Melbourne environmental factors.
Structural, air infiltration and water penetration tests were also conducted to assess the conformity of the wall types against the project specification.
All facade specimens were tested to SIROWET standard.
The tests were carried out in the China National Accreditation Cooperation (CNAS) certified Yuanda test lab in Shenyang and witnessed by Building Envelope Test Consulting Solutions (beTcs) Asia-Pacific who are independent and accredited inspectors.
The Yuanda Lab is accredited by CNAS and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) for testing to the required AS/NZS 4284.
West Side Place is located at 250 Spencer Street, Melbourne and will become Melbourne’s largest CBD residential developments.
