Yuanda Australia appointed to construct façade to lift exclusive Melbourne development
Australia’s leading façade and curtain wall contracting group, Yuanda Australia, has been appointed to construct the façade for the $550 million mixed-use development 80 Collins in Melbourne.
The development will make a dramatic architectural statement on Melbourne's iconic Collins Street, and the external appearance of the building will be key to that statement.
Yuanda Australia will provide around 4200 individual panels to the site in coming months to create the 28,000-square-metre façade.
Up to 30 local workers will be employed to install the façade to the high standards Yuanda Australia sets for all its projects.
Yuanda Australia General Manager Graham Romer said the group was excited to be working with developers QIC and Multiplex to deliver the unique and luxurious new commercial address.
"We're honoured to have been appointed by Multiplex to construct the façade that will line one Melbourne's most prominent streets,” Mr Romer said.
"The façade will be designed to maintain a sophisticated urban overtone, offering the ultimate inner-city workplace experience while ensuring that the building be positioned to become a focal point of the ritzy east-end of Melbourne's Collins Street.”
The development will encompass 43,000sqm of retail and office space overlooking the Royal Botanic Gardens and Port Philip Bay.
